Were You Absent From School Today?
If you were absent from school today, here are a few tips to help you find out what you missed:
1.) Check the classroom website for a general overview of the week's work. Hover over your grade-level and click on the "What's Happening in Class." I will try my best to keep it as up-to-date as possible.
2.) Ask a friend to borrow their agenda and copy down the homework.
3.) Check the wall and the "Were You Absent?" folders for any handouts you missed while you were away and look at the calendar to record what the classwork and homework was.
4.) Ask a classmate and then the teacher.
How much time do I have to make-up missing work?
For each day that you are absent, you are given the same amount of days to make-up the work. If there is an extended absence, arrangements can be made with the teacher so the work load does not become over-whelming. It is the student's responsibility to see the teacher about missing work. I do not always remember who is absent and for how long, though I wish I did! :)

What should I do if I know that I am going to be absent?
If you know you are going to be absent for more than a day or two (ex. a vacation or family trip), please let me (the teacher) know ahead of time. At least 48 hours notice is needed to prepare any work ahead of time. In certain instances, it may be determined that waiting and giving you missing work upon your return would be a better option. A note, email, or phone call is all that is needed from the parent and is greatly appreciated.
